Philadelphia

The next leg of our summer road trip was Philadelphia and meet family. The plan was to spend 2 days in Philly, a few days in NY and then back to Atlanta. But due to a family emergency, my nephews had to return to San Diego the following day. We were able to spend a few hours all together before we dropped them off at the airport. Visiting Cousins in Maryland

Image
We planned a dinner/stopover in Maryland during our summer road trip to visit Richard's cousin and her family. We last saw them when they visited Atlanta before Ela was born. It's amazing to see the kids (second cousins) bond and play immediately. Also, best dinner of the trip - crabs and pancit palabok.

Washington, DC

Back in June, we went on a summer road trip to Washington, DC and Philadelphia, with a quick meet-up with relatives in Maryland. Atlanta to Washington, DC was over 600 miles, but we stayed overnight in Raleigh, NC to break the up the drive. We did not have a lot of time in Washington, DC (just overnight) and one morning was dedicated for passport renewal for Rich's mama so we had to skip all the museums this time. We saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, and the White House. There's a lot of walking involved, although you can also rent bikes and scooters but that was hard with Ela so we walked. :) Ela's favorite
