Team Dinner and Good Thoughts

The highlight of Feb. 28, 2013 is dinner at Eclipse di Luna .  It's not the food nor the place but the people that made this a good meal.  We were 6 at the table, all from different parts of the world.  USA, India, Taiwan, Kore, China and Philippines represented!  This season in human history is amazing simply because this kind of interaction is possible. The team here don't usually go out but because everyone's always busy but Clint sent the invitation because I was in town and there were a few other things to celebrate as well -- 1st year anniversary with the company and a belated welcome dinner.  This is not everyone though.  Our director is in China and another colleague went on vacation to Korea. We went around the table doing detailed personal introductions.  Someone initiated a "let's hear your story" conversation so we informally  went around the table talking about family, education, work history, hobbies, etc.  I learned new and interesting fa

Halfway Point!

I'm halfway through this week-long business trip.  I am flying home on Saturday and will be home by Sunday.  Confession time.  I am always nervous when entering this country.  The interview with the immigration officer always gets to me.  It doesn't matter how many times I've done it, or that it's all proper and lawful but I just get nervous.  I play Q&As in my head.  My heart races, my hands get cold.  I go through the interview and everything is fine.  And I wonder what I was so worried about. I prayed for favor.  I was asked one question and the officer told me he hopes that the weather would be great for the week and that I enjoy my stay.  I picked up my luggage, took a cab to the hotel and everything was in order.  Prayer works.   I just find that I am more relaxed on this trip, even if I was traveling alone.  Familiarity plays a part.  I have been here 5 times, have stayed in this hotel previously, know the people at the office, know what time the shut

My Friday Thing

Hello! Hello! I have a lot of things to post about but have not gotten around to it because of other things.  But today, while waiting or my connecting flight at the Korean Air Lounge in Incheon (on the way to Atlanta), I have decided to talk about my Victory Group.  Yes, I said my because the two sessions so far has made me feel that I can really grow with this great group of couples (with a few singles in the mix). This is not thr first VG I've tried.  I had an almost regular group while we were still attending VCF Alabang and that was great, too.  I also attended 2 sessions with another person while already with VCF Fort but that did not work out.  For a while I felt bad about declining (politely) being part of that group but I really still wanted to join one.  During the Kids Church new volunteers' orientation, I sat beside L and we started talking.  She invited me to join her VG.  They meet in Makati on Fridays.  The schedule and location really works for me.

Group presentation Neil had another moment on stage which was to say a couple of lines about people born on the year of the ox.  He was the backup but got to do it in the end because his classmate did not want to perform.  Proud mommy! "Ox people are very patient and are good listerners.  They inspire others with their calm assuredness." Class picture Funny face.

Em shared this video with me and it's just beautiful. ~~~~~ Not for a Moment by Vertical Church Band You were reaching through the storm And Walking on the water Even when I could not see In the middle of it all When I thought You were a thousand miles away Not for a moment did You forsake me Not for a moment did You forsake me  After all, You are constant After all, You are only good After all, You are Sovereign Not for a moment will You forsake me Not for a moment will You forsake me You were singing in the dark  Whispering Your promise Even when I could not hear I was held in Your arms Carried for a thousand miles to show Not for a moment did You forsake me Not for a moment did You forsake me Every step, every breath You are there  Every tear, every cry, every prayer In my hurt, in my worst, when my world falls down. Not for a moment will You forsake me Not for a moment will You forsake me
