Easter Sunday Photos

Sharing some pictures from Easter Sunday.

Riverside Park

This is the second park that's also close to the house. We've driven by this house a few times before and finally decided to check it out one Saturday. It's right on the Chattahoochee River which makes for a good picnic spot. The playground itself is not big but kids are entertained but the ducks that hang around on the river bank more than makes up for it. :) There are hiking trails that go in different directions and we went on a short walk that day, too.

Playing Baseball

One of the benefits of moving closer to our church is being able to participate in its many activities, like baseball. The church organizes a seasonal baseball league for boys and Richard signed Neil up. He hasn't done this before, and we don't watch the sport at all so this was out of our comfort zone. At one point, I even insisted that he pull out because he still has karate and there will be expenses for new baseball gear. But Richard talked to the coach and they said no experience necessary so we decided to just let Neil try it. And he enjoys it! They have games every Saturday (2-0 so far) and he's been able to hit the ball and make a few bases. It's fun to cheer for Neil, along with the other parents of the kids on his team. This has become one of the things I look forward to on the weekend. :)

Compassion Experience

Image
Compassion Experience is an immersive exhibit sponsored by Compassion International which allow people to experience other cultures and the realities of global poverty. It's organized by Compassion International and they put up the exhibit at our church on the week of February 24. The featured stories were from the Philippines, Uganda and Guatemala. There is an audio guide as you walk through the different rooms and they tried to recreate the locations based on the children's stories. I wanted to show this to Neil so he can be exposed to different realities, but it was eye opening for all of us.

Recommended Black Belt

Image
Neil took and passed his test for recommended black belt in karate on February 22. He's one step closer to black belt! He started karate more than 3 years ago and the enthusiasm remains. It makes me proud to see him do well, especially at how much he's improved since the beginning. Congratulations, Neil!

At the Park

This park is located 2 miles away from the house and we've been there a few times already. There's a playground, trails, a small creek and picnic areas, and it draws many families especially when the weather is nice. These photos were taken on our first visit.
