Trick or Treat Around the Neighborhood

Image
I procrastinated on the kids' Holloween costumes this year but luckily had supplies to be able to come up with something. Neil is Mario because we already have the hat which I bought for an office activity and Ela is Princess Peach to stay on theme. I DIYed Neil shirt and the embellishments on Ela's dress. I think they turned out nicely. :)  Our neighborhood has an annual party on Holloween before the kids start trick or treating but it was soooo cold that afternoon that there were very few people when we arrived. We let Neil and Ela go to just a few houses because it was too cold to stay out, but they still had fun collecting candy.

School Orchestra Concert

Neil's school music program requires students to choose if they want to do orchestra, band or choir. He chose orchestra and violin as the instrument. We rented a violin and enrolled him in lessons before school started just so he can familiarize himself with the instrument and get a little headstart. They had their first school concert in October and it was so cool listening to the kids play after only a few weeks of lessons. So impressive!

Trick or Treat at the Mall

The shopping mall close to our house had its first trick or treat activity for the kids. We decided last minute to take Ela and it was fun seeing so many kids (and adults) in costume.
