School Fun Run

Image
Photos from Neil's school's annual fun run yesterday (3/21). Great turnout despite the early start and chilly weather. The 5K run was under way when we got there. Rich and Neil were doing the 1 mile run at 8:20AM. This fun run is the school's annual fundraising activity. It's much anticipated and well-supported by the families and local businesses. Great first experience for us. Warm-up All done!

Surprise Baby Shower

Image
Our family of three will soon be four... in about a month.=) It seems that we are more laid back this time compared to Neil. We did not make an announcement in Fb until a few weeks back. We haven't decided on a name. And we have not started buying things for the baby at all. With only a few weeks to go, this is something that's on our minds a lot these days. We definitely need to step up. So the surprise baby shower lunch with friends last Sunday could not have come at a better time. We now have a few things for the kiddo. Thank you!!!

Rich in the Kitchen

Image
I haven't been cooking as much lately because Rich has taken 'ownership' of the kitchen. Something has clicked and he's discovered that cooking is really not that scary or complicated.=) He follows recipes and the ones he tried so far have been pretty good and look nice, too. I was cooking adobo today and he even volunteered finish making it. It's great to have another cook in the house. Good job, daddy! The recipe for this is from Publix. It's called lobster surf and turf with lemon butter and bearnaise but this version is minus the lobster.=) Pan-seared chicken with tomato and olive relish

YMCA

Image
Last Saturday, we got ourselves a family membership at YMCA. We visited the branch that was a bit farther from the house because the facilities looked better on their website. And it was. Neil, Rich and Mama went swimming+jacuzzi while I was content on the sidelines with a book. After swimming, Rich and Neil went to the gym for basketball. Neil got hit on the mouth and cut his lip. He did not cry at all. We plan to do this every weekend at least, to take advantage of the membership.

Karate Testing for Camo Belt

Image
Neil had his promotion test for karate last Tuesday, from orange to camo belt. I'm sorry to miss it but it was on the same day as a work conference I attended at the Gorgia World Congress Center. Rich took a video though, which is the next best thing. Congratulations, Neil!
