10th Anniversary

April 24 was a marriage milestone for Rich and me. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. It sounds like a really long time but it does not feel so at all. It's true, the days are long but the years are short.

We've been very last minute in terms of how to celebrate our anniversary in previous years and this year is no exception. We already knew we wouldn't be able to go anywhere far with the new baby or even get away for a few hours because we're bfeeding so Richard just bought takeout dinner. Simple lang but what's important is giving thanks to the Lord for this milestone, for guiding our marriage, for the countless blessings, and for His plans for our family.

Rich is the anchor of our family. I see all these articles about how fathers need to be more involved with the kids and do their share in the home, and he just does it naturally. He willingly changes diapers, wakes up for middle-of-the-night feedings with me, preps our breakfast, takes Neil to school, the doctor, regular karate classes and biking around the neighborhood, does the grocery shopping, sets up medical appointments, etc. Wherever one is needed to fill in for a season, one of us just does it. I also concede that he is the more fun parent between the two of us.=) He just makes things happen. He's the more courageous decision-maker. He pushes our family towards paths that I would not easily venture into.

Happy anniversary, Rich! I'm thankful to God that you're my teammate in this life. Here's to more adventures!
