Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, NY

The Statue of Liberty is an iconic stop for tourists in NY and having mostly first timers in our family, it had to be on our agenda. We had lunch after visiting the 911 Memorial, and were stranded for a long time because it was raining. We were waiting for the scheduled but that did not come and were cutting it really close to 2PM which was specified in our ticket. (Stress!) We were able to grab a taxi and Uber, and made it just in time before the ferry set sail.

The rain has stopped when we got to Liberty Island but still gloomy as you can see in the pictures. After Liberty Island, we stopped at Ellis Island to see the immigration museum.

Neil, who's very much into ships these days said that his dream came true, being on a ship. :)
