Ruby Falls in Chattanooga, TN

Our second weekend in Atlanta coincided with Memorial Day weekend so we planned to venture farther from our neighborhood.  During one conversation, an officemate mentioned the places in other states we could easily drive to.  Chattanooga, TN came up, specifically Lookout Mountain with 3 popular attractions - Ruby Falls, Rock City and Incline Railway.  We researched it and it's 2+ hours drive.  Richard agreed to it and we invited Sally and Anne as well.

So we were off to Chattanooga on May 24.  We left the apartment at 8:15AM and arrived at our first destination, Ruby Falls, 10:30AM.

I knew Ruby Falls was underground but we were not aware of the 1/2 mile walk in oftentimes tight spaces to see it.  We had to be with a group and they time the entry to control the number or people inside.

Then the space opened up to this.  Beautiful!  Even if we wanted to stay longer, it was not allowed because other groups were coming.

Overlooking downtown Chattanooga.
