Blueberry Picking at Washington Farms

About two weeks ago, I mentioned in passing that it's blueberry season and that there are farms that are open to the public for picking.  Neil was enthused and really held on to the idea.  He also caught me researching farms a few times and he would repeatedly ask when we would go.  I didn't want to disappoint him, plus I was also interested to check it out myself so last Saturday we went to Washington Farms in Watkinsville to pick blueberries!

We left the house around 9:30AM and one hour later, we were at the farm.  It was a pleasant experience walking along the rows of blueberry shrubs and picking the fruits.  We got two buckets and let Neil take charge of one.  He's a serious little picker and did not complain despite the heat.  If it was up to him, we would have stayed longer.

We filled half the bucket just because that's all we thought would be all we're able to consume.  We paid $6 for the berries and had some of their homemade strawberry ice cream which was soo good. It was maybe close to 12 noon when we left.  Great way to spend the morning doing something for the first time.=)
