Neil had his karate testing for blue belt (decided) last Monday. He's really getting better at this and we're so proud of all the progress he's made for the last 2 years.
We went to Zoo Atlanta last Sunday and hosted some friends from the Manila office. In our previous visits, Ela was oblivious to the animals but this time, she was more engaged. We loved seeing her reactions to the swimming turtles and fish. She also enjoyed the petting zoo and even attempted to ride on one of the goats.=) Ela and Ayel The main attraction. Twin pandas were born in early September but they are not yet shown to the public. Enjoyed the petting zoo!
I saw signs for High Falls State Park while we were driving to The Rock Ranch. It was just a little out of the way so we were able to stop by on the way home. Because it was late afternoon, we did not walk the whole trail, just the part along the river then made our way back. The pictures we saw online showed more cascading water, but it was still lovely.
Last Saturday, we drove to 85 miles south to The Rock Ranch for their annual Fall Family Fun Days. They have different themes every weekend and we picked October 15 because there will be hot air balloons. It turned out to be too windy so none of the balloons were inflated when we were there. That was a disappointment but the place itself made up for it. There were so many activities for the kids to enjoy and it was just beautiful out there. We have not been to a 'proper' pumpkin patch this year so I had to take photos with this setup near the entrance. Tiny Town. This is a kid-sized village with assorted establishments. Neil and Ela enjoyed it here. Corn pit! This was fun, too. Neil wanted to bury his whole body and a few other kids helped him. Checking off corn maze-ing on this trip. The theme was The Rock! The actual design of the maze was The Rock's face. Neil was our flag bearer while Rich figured out where to go. Paddle boats...
