We Are All Weird by Seth Godin
I've read only one of Seth Godin's books before this (Purple Cow, which I really liked) but I hope to get my hands on more of his work. I first heard of We Are All Weird from Pastor Dennis' blog. He recommended the Kindle version which was reasonably priced at $4.99. I thought it was a good time to test reading a whole book using the iPad and also try the purchasing process from Amazon. Both went pretty well.=)
Like most of Godin's books, this one is about marketing in the modern age. We are living in times where we are able to delve really deep into our interests/hobbies however obscure or weird. And to Godin, the smart companies are those that embrace the weirdness, those that specialize rather than mass market, that that cater to a very small but loyal niche. It's a very short book which I read in one sitting (ok, bio and food break in between) also because Seth Godin's writing is simple and straightforward. The main topic is interesting but there was a lot of repetition of ideas within the book. I liked Purple Cow better.
