Dentist + Arcade Day for Neil

Image
Neil has been to the dentist several times in the last 2 months to fix his teeth.  I have not been able to accompany him because of work but Richard has told me he did really great on his previous appointments.  I was finally able to see this on his 05/01 appointment because it was a holiday.   I sat with Neil and he cooperated throughout the 30+ minutes of dental procedure.  He is now cavity-free.  Proud mama moment.=) We spent the rest of the afternoon at Alabang Town Center and we let him play at the arcade.  I don't normally like spending money on these games but the boy deserved a treat.  Good times!

Work Updates

If I let my work dictate my vacation days, the latter would probably never happen.  There is no slow week at work for me, there is just busy and busier... I am not complaining though, I love my job but one needs to get away sometimes to spend focused time with family and get a renewed perspective of things. My last two vacation leaves could not have been scheduled at more inopportune times.  I was on leave at the height of preparations for our department roadshow (for the Singapore trip) and then last Friday while the bosses were visiting Manila.  I had to squeeze all the agenda with my manager into two days and work on some deliverables so I can go to Boracay.  I left the office around 2AM on Friday (0% packed for an 11AM flight) and still ended up not finishing everything so I had to bring my laptop on vacation.  Before you think that this was a sad situation, let me say that there is no perfect formula for work-life balance.  One just needs to be happy...

Mike and Lei 04.27.2013

Mike and Lei were married on April 27 at the Christ the King Parish in Quezon City.  This is the first IHG colleague's wedding I've attended.  I was invited to a few others before but either the schedule did not work or the location was too challenging.  This time, everything worked out. All the best, Mike and Lei!

Our 8th Wedding Anniversary

Image
Our 8th anniversary is unforgettable because it was celebrated in two countries.=)  Our Singapore-Manila flight was at 12:45AM of April 24.  Even if we already kind of celebrated the event with this family vacation, I still wanted to go for dinner, kahit simple lang .  We were both undecided on the restaurant and were still checking Munchpunch up to the time we had to leave the condo. We walked around Greenbelt, checked the menus at Myron's, The Museum Cafe, etc.  None of them felt ok so we kept on walking.  I mentioned Via Mare and Rich was a bit more enthusiastic so that's where we headed.  We got seats outside and started perusing the menu, then saw that the adjoining place looked more inviting and had a lot more patrons, which is always a good sign.  We jumped ship and that's how People's Palace became our choice for anniversary dinner.   Kailangan pareho ang pose! I remember the preaching from Edwin and Rezza's wedding where the p...

Singapore Day 4 - Gardens by the Bay

Image
This was our last day in Singapore and we decided to spend most of it at Gardens by the Bay.  We checked out of the hotel first, left our luggage with the concierge and took the shuttle to Orchard Road.  We bought souvenirs, had lunch at Lucky Plaza then took the MRT to Gardens by the Bay.  Only Cloud Forest was open this day because the Flower Dome was closed for maintenance.  We took as much time as walking around and appreciating the greenery.  Next stop was the Supertree Grove, then Marina Bay Sands for snacks. Our last appointment for the day was dinner with friends from Intel before heading to the airport.  Orchard Road Cloud Forest Supertree Grove Toast and coffee + dimsum Intel friends
