Lake Lanier Christmas 2014

We took advantage of the warmer weather on Saturday to go check out Lake Lanier Christmas event at Lake Lanier. It's about 45 minutes drive going north.  We left almost 5PM and were there around 6PM.  They were open from 5PM-10PM.

Our first stop was the live Nativity scene by Free Chapel. Our timing was perfect.  We just had to wait a few minutes for the performance to start. The crowd was quiet and I appreciate the solemnity of the moment.

Then the rest of the time, we were just driving around to see the light displays. It was 7 miles of predefined route and you're not allowed to stop or move to the side so we had to go with the flow.  It was ok, not spectacular but our (my) intention was to experience a Christmas event in Atlanta so it's all good.

At the end of the route were rides, a skating rink, food stalls and Santa Claus meet-and-greet.  We opted not to stop anymore because it was getting cold. On our way back we saw a very long line of cars still trying to get in.  It was good that we were there early.

After stopping for food, we headed back home.=)
