USS Midway Museum in San Diego
December 2016 chronicles continued...
After spending Christmas with Richard's side of the family in Nevada, it was time to go to San Diego to be with my sister and her family. We have been to San Diego a few times before and have seen most of the tourist attractions. But I really wanted to visit the USS Midway Museum primarily for Neil who has a current obsession with ships (sunken ships in particular).
The USS Midway is an aircraft carrier used during the Vietnam War and Gulf War, and was decommissioned in 1992. It's permanently berthed at the San Diego Bay as a museum. We had access to most parts of the expansive ship, and spent ~3 hours exploring. There was so much to take in. Great experience for all of us.
I miss this weather...
