NatGeo Earth Day Run - Done!

The NatGeo Earth Day Run happened last Sunday.  We set our alarms for 4:15, enough time to prepare and get to the venue.  The assembly was 5:20, I think we arrived a little after 5AM.  There were already so many people there, all excited to run the 3k, 5k and 10k.  Just being in the company of this large group who would trade sleeping in on a Sunday morning to run and sweat for a cause is priceless. :)

We met Yayan, Mike and Mae before the race.  Yayan then looked for her Korean friends, while Mike and Mae had to deposit their bags at the tent.  Richard and I proceeded to the assembly point, and when the horn sounded, we started.... walking. :)

There were too many people in front you can't really jog/run freely.  After a few meters, we had enough room and started jogging.  I have always needed to drink during physical activities so it was good that we had the Jansport hydration pack, which Richard carried.  He's my water boy. :)

I didn't get a lot of practice before this run so I needed to walk parts of the way.  But we finished, I think it was less than 45 minutes.  Richard jokingly said days before that our goal was not to be last.  Goal met. :) It was good to run with Rich.

We found Yayan and the KOICA volunteers afterwards, then they went to get breakfast.  Then we rendezvoused with Mike and Mae, took a few photos at the stage, and with Karylle :), then walked to Blue Wave for breakfast at ChowKing.

Good day. :)
