Noon Year's Eve at Fernbank Museum

We went to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History yesterday for the noon year's eve celebration. It's basically a new year countdown for kids. We prepped, bought tickets, dropped by the post office and arrived around 20 minutes before noon. High fives to the whole family for making this happen given that we decided to go at 10AM.=)

There was a long line for tickets so it was great we already got ours. We just had enough time to get in, find a spot and wait for the countdown. There was a DJ on site for full on party atmosphere. At 12 noon, 2000 balloons were dropped. It was so festive and fun!

Waiting for the balloons to drop.

Happy noon year! Thank you kind stranger for offering to take our picture.

People started leaving after the countdown but we stayed to see the temporary exhibits like Searching for the Queen of Sheba and Women of Vision (National Geographic photographers on assignment).

We also viewed some of the permanent exhibits but did not rush to see everything because we got the annual membership and we can come back anytime.

I'm glad we decided to go out yesterday because it's starting to get cold and excursions like this will be harder to do in the coming days.
