Sports Weekend

What a big weekend for sports!

First up, NBA.  Miami vs. Boston in the NBA Eastern Conference finals.  I wanted the Celtics to win but Miami's victory makes for a very interesting battle between the young teams (vs. OKC) in the Finals.

Pacquiao-Bradley welterweight fight.  I watched this on a tiny screen courtesy of live-streaming.  Of course we expected Manny to win but after the surprising loss was announced and Manny did his on-ring interview, I somehow felt ok with it.  Everyone knows Manny really won and that's what matters.

French Open tennis.  Maria Sharapova won the French Open finals and completed a career slam.  She's back at #1.  Unlike men's tennis where the top four are consistent, women's tennis has been very erratic in recent years.  I hope this win by Maria ushers back the era of consistency in the women's games.

The men's finals between Rafa and Novak.  It's a high stakes championship for both men - Rafa going for a record 7 wins in the French and Novak to be defending champion for all four grand slam titles if he wins.  The postponement was favorable to Rafa because Novak was gained momentum in the third set.  But I'm glad Rafa won.=)

So far, the new tv and SkyCable subscription has been worth it.  NBA finals and the Olympics are next!
