Road Trip to Sinacaban

While on vacation in Iligan, we decided to take a road trip to Tangub in Misamis Occidental.  They have elaborate Christmas displays at the city plaza every December.  My first visit was like a lifetime ago, before I got married and it was with Mommy's co-teachers.

There were seven of us this time (Papang, Mommy, Manong, Ate Girlie, Rich, Neil, and me).  It was an easy drive going to Kolambugan but we had to wait an hour or so for the barge that will take us to Ozamiz.  We did a quick side-trip to Sinacaban, before finally heading to Tangub.  This post will have the Sinacaban pictures first.

Group shot! Manong and Papang were in front. Neil is a great traveler.  I never worry that he gets bored or really impatient in the car or plane.

On the barge.

Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park (MOAP) in Sinacaban. You can take the boat from here to go to Dolphin Island where you can swim with the dolphins. We did not do that anymore.

This walkway used to be made of bamboo. Now it's concrete.

Did you catch the sign? It says Gov. Herminia Ramiro's Wharf. Yes, she owns it. Not!

The old zoo is still around, which you can access by walking along this path. It has not been maintained very well, though. There are broken cages and fewer animals. I hope it can get restored, great potential.

This bird was not in the cage. We wondered if it escaped or really free and just happened to hang around the area.
