January 29-30 Weekend
Weekends are typically for relaxation and just taking things slow... Typically. The previous weekend was definitely an exception because it was packed with activities.
First of all, I came home from work past 1AM on Saturday because I had a meeting that started at midnight. I fell asleep probably asleep close to 2AM. I had to set my alarm for 6:30AM because we were to meet friends for breakfast at the Salcedo weekend market.
I wanted to take Neil to the park, but he was still too sleepy by the time we had to leave. So it was just Em and I who went to meet Karyn and Jan. We took a few photos first, then walked to the park.
Going around Salcedo Park on Saturdays is one of my favorite things to do. Mostly I just look at stuff, take pictures and and enjoy being in the midst of commerce.=) My breakfast was French galette. Em's was tortang talong. Sorry, no pictures. We were too hungry! Jong met us at the park.
It was close to 9AM when we got back to the condo. Carlo dropped by and after taking care of a few things, we left for brunch at Racks.
It's Carlo's despedida, he will be an OFW in Singapore. We all drove to the airport to say goodbye.
Then all of us drove back to the condo supposedly to swim. But it was overcast and windy and none of kids and adults were able to stand the cold. So we just hung out for a while.
Next stop: picnic at Ayala Triangle Gardens where we let the kids loose. =)
We packed up when it got dark. Next on the agenda was dinner at Joy&Erick's house. We had to take Neil back to the condo and let him sleep because by this time, he was already very tired. The parents sneaked out for dinner (may bantay si Neil ha!) and we were back home past 10PM. Long day, multiple locations but it's always fun to spend time with friends and kids.
But wait! There's more!
Sunday morning, we went to attend the service at Victory Fort, then had lunch at Market! Market! Neil fell asleep during lunch so we just saved his food and walked to Bonifacio High Street. We hung out at Fully Booked, where I found a cozy chair to sleep on but unfortunately Neil woke up. So we looked at kids' books for a while then went outside to feed the boy.
Then we went on a hunt for Manila's best gelato. I read from a blog that a certain newly-opened gelateria on Burgos Circle has the best gelato. So we drove there and found Bar Dolci. We got the pistachio and cappuccino flavors and they were goooood! I don't know if they're the best in Manila because I haven't tried other places...
Then we headed back to the condo, but not before dropping/picking up our laundry at Suds. We just rested for a bit, until it was time for dinner. We ate at Caloy&Charm's place where they informed us about another blessing related to their business, which blesses us as well. =)
Thank you, Lord, for a full and wonderful weekend!
