Throwback: Trips to Singapore

Image
I have been to Singapore three times before.  The first visit was to attend a conference on supply chain planning, the second one was an overnight side trip (business travel in Malaysia) and the third one was for vacation with Rich.  Number 4 is coming soon! Trip #1: November 2005 This was a 4-day trip to attend a conference. I stayed at the Swissotel near the Marina Bay, but this was long before the construction of Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay. Back in those days, it did not occur to me to extend my trip for sightseeing so I saw very little of the country, basically just the area withing walking distance of the hotel. I took selfies before they were called selfies. This was one of two shots of me that's not a selfie. Thank you, kind stranger. Trip #2: February 2007 This trip was even shorter than the first one, just overnight, a stopover of my Penang-Manila trip. I stayed at Joel's condo and he took me and Malou to the Night Safari. Trip #3...

VG Summer Outing in Pampanga

Image
Our VG (VCF small group/cell group) spent the weekend in Pampanga for some family summer bonding.  There were 5 families + 2 singles in attendance, 12 adults + 9 kids.  We had lunch at C+L's place in Pampanga before heading to King's Royale where we spent the rest of the weekend for R&R. All the guys Us girls, missing 1 Wave pool on break Night swimming with Daddy Kids = Cartoon Network Morning swimming with Mommy Group photo before heading back to Manila Neil Moments: -  The adults were amused that Neil liked sweeping the floors, walls, chairs, etc. both at the house and resort villa.  He saw the broom and asked "can I get the sweep?" =)  It was more entertaining than useful because he sweeps in different directions. -  This is Neil's first time to spend overnight with this many kids.  He wasn't very interactive with them yet.  We plan to take him to the regular Friday VG meetings so he w...

Throwback: Neil's First Bike

Image
This post inspired me to look for photos from when Neil got his first bike in July 2010, just after he celebrated his second birthday.  I thought I had blogged about it 2 years ago but apparently not so here's a throwback post. What daddies are for My cute little boy!

New Bike!

Image
Rich bought Neil a new bike last week and the kid has been enjoying it very much.  It has been a while since he's biked.  He outgrew the Lightning McQueen one we bought him when he was about 2.  We've been checking out bigger bikes at the mall but they were too expensive.  Rich decided to go to Cartimar one morning while I was at work and came home with this reasonably priced bike.   Here are a few pictures from Sunday. I love this next series.  I asked Neil to make faces, I take the shot and he would run to me so he can see the picture.  And repeat! I did not realize how much enjoyment this boy gets out of biking.  He was pedaling around until it got dark.  I'm glad Rich insisted we buy him a new bike and that we got it for a good price.  The lesson, venture out of the malls kse mahal sila!

Kids Yoga Philippines Launch

Image
Kids Yoga Philippines was launched on April 7, 2013 at the Mind Museum in BGC.  We learned about the free event at Urban Ashram during Neil's semi-regular kids yoga class. We arrived at the venue close to 2PM and there was a short line at registration.  I was surprised to find a good number of parents, kids and yayas already inside.  The kids were given kits with coloring sheets and crayons which Neil worked on while waiting for the program to start. Neil did not like to write/draw/color when he was younger so to see him complete the picture below made me soo happy and proud. The program started shortly after a snack break - sponsors served pizza, cupcakes and drinks.  For the RKY Community Class, the kids were asked to move to the center of the room forming a very big circle.  You can see from the pictures below how packed the room was.  The instructor was really lively and energetic and most of the kids participated enthusiastically. ...

Edwin and Rezza 04.06.2013

Image
Our family attended Edwin and Rezza's wedding last Saturday.  Edwin is our friend from Intel and I met Rezza for the first time at the Halika-Book event they organized last year.   We drove from Makati at 10:30AM, had a quick lunch at Max's in Alabang Town Center, then proceeded to San Antonio de Padua church in Silang, Cavite.  Reception was at The Hills, also in Silang. It was a beautiful wedding -- I loved all the details, the band was great, food was delicious.  But more importantly, you can see the couple's love and affection for each other, their families and friends.  I feel honored for our family to have been part of this celebration.  All the best, Edwin and Rezza! #RezzaEdwin4keeps Eli, our inaanak, was the coin bearer Edwin with his parents Here comes the beautiful bride! Entourage Boys in barong After the ceremony Reception details Entertainment Syempre!
