Kids Yoga Philippines Launch

Kids Yoga Philippines was launched on April 7, 2013 at the Mind Museum in BGC.  We learned about the free event at Urban Ashram during Neil's semi-regular kids yoga class.

We arrived at the venue close to 2PM and there was a short line at registration.  I was surprised to find a good number of parents, kids and yayas already inside.  The kids were given kits with coloring sheets and crayons which Neil worked on while waiting for the program to start.

Neil did not like to write/draw/color when he was younger so to see him complete the picture below made me soo happy and proud.

The program started shortly after a snack break - sponsors served pizza, cupcakes and drinks.  For the RKY Community Class, the kids were asked to move to the center of the room forming a very big circle.  You can see from the pictures below how packed the room was.  The instructor was really lively and energetic and most of the kids participated enthusiastically.

We encouraged Neil to follow and do the actions as well but it was difficult for him to focus with all the kids, noise and being seated at the back.  After some time, we decided to just leave.  Based on attendance and how well the event was ran, at least up to the part we witnessed, it was a successful launch for Kids Yoga Philippines.  I wish Neil could have participated in its entirety but it wasn't meant to be.

We winded down by browsing at the Mind Museum shop, having snacks at Jollibee and checking out the tree installation at Burgos Circle.

  2. Hi Teacher Rina!=) We're also glad to have discovered yoga for Neil. He hasn't been to a class in a while though because of other things but it's one of our almost regular weekend activities. See you soon!
